When people saying the exposure range is great, what do they mean by that?
Please Explain

Thanks guys

Most likely they mean the range in tone from dark to light.

Consider these two photos:

The one on the left in direct sunlight has a "great" exposure range. So much that the shadows are black without any detail. The range was more than the camera could handle. The photo on the right however has much less range. Under an overcast sky the shadows (hardly any shadows) are open and maintain detail.

Are you sure they said "exposure range is great" or "exposure is great" ?

It is not usual to comment on exposure range ... hmm, it could be concerning HDR images ??

They say exposure range is just great! XD
Thanks for providing me the link, I'm interested in dynamic range as well

Thanks KmH
