F-22 Demo Team EAA Airventure 2026

Nikon D3200, VR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G, 1/2000s, f/5.6, and using NX Studio. I tried to make it look natural and keep as much detail as I could. I cropped it to make it more centered, set exposure comp to 1.60, turned off active d-lighting, and used lateral color aberration lens correction and auto distortion control is on. I took the pictures as a way to keep the memory of Airventure and to eventually post on my own website. Attached below is the original photo so feel free to edit either one or make suggestions. One thing I want to see if I can get tips on is how to make it look more professional.

The first and obvious thing I see and I know you saw it too when you first saw it. The exposure is very dark.
Yes it looks like it was an overcast day but according to your settings, you had a lot of room to improve your exposure.

First suggestion I would have had is to shoot this at about 1/1000 F5.6 and ISO 800.

A lot of people think that because the plane is moving quick that you need a high shutter. You don't. If you pan with the aircraft, you'll be surprised how low a shutter speed you can actually shoot.

I had a quick edit and have included the settings I used. The only thing not in the settings image is a bit of hue shift into blue and a bit of sharpening.

Thanks for the tips. What editor do you use? Do you think this is an improvement? I tried using NX Studios hue adjustment to make it more blue, I think I got the sky a nice color without exaggerating the bluish color on the body.
