Judging by the title, I think you should frame the picture on the tree with red leaves. It's great with the overcast. Just visualize the red leaves against the gray clouds, they stand out really well. Although, the comparison thing you have going on is pretty good. But there's still too much purposeless foreground.

Agreed. I was thinking of taking some portrait shots there this coming weekend if the weather holds up. I can fill the foreground with some faces. I can't decide if I want to shoot with mountaintop with it. If I move to the right I can catch the red tree without it.
