The tree is a great subject, but I'm not sure the surroundings really contribute much. If we could see other damage or something else that tied the image together, it could be different. I found that when I clicked on the image I got only about half of it on screen, centered in the original frame, and that worked better for me. I like the trail in the sky that is partially blocked by the tree and the light-dark contrast on either side of it.
