Thanks!
Fun footnote: Frozen spray and mist coated the rocks(and me) down to the gorge. Lugged a tripod and this big-a$$ rig down and back safely--somehow. After seeing a print, meine frau said she wouldn't have started looking for me till spring when I washed down to Lake Ontario. Had it coming? Probably...

Not as dangerous but I bought a very nice, though budget friendly fly rod from a Vermont company, many years ago. My first trip with it was in January, looking for mointain brook trout. After an hour, I thought the rod wasn't sasting as noceley as it was when I startted. I saw that the guides had iced up a bit. Looking around me, I noticed ice forming on the rocks in the stream. I decided it was time to quit.

Hah! Same thing hit me fishing early spring in the White Mountains in AZ. Fly line froze to a rock.
