Here are two shots of the same subject - the first from a distance and the second from up close.

Isn't it the other way ? #1 seems to be up close.
I like #2, it is quite abstract. With this angle the picture lost so much information about the subject that the imagination may play.

#2 is actually the close-up. The heavier rib that runs down and left to right is actually one of the ribs in the darker area of the top one, just viewed from straight on. The material is actually like a corrugated plastic, and if you look closely to number two, you can see drops of condensation in each of the channels.

Pretty good! The first is a little bright in the upper left. I'd darken it there or at least use a black border so the corner doesn't blend into the (awful) white background here. The second is much more interesting, imo.
