First thing that came to mind when I saw this image is it's overexposed and out of focus.

Not exactly - they said "flowers" and there are two flowers.

Its hard to capture detail in yellow flowers. They look like you may have shot them in bright sun.{?} And they are out of focus. I really like the composition though.
