hello, a friend and I went out yesterday and I took some photographs of him. I was going for a very natural look the the photos and combining that with my friend who I feel looks rather interesting. Please give me your feedback. Thanks!

Yes, your friend looks interesting and the vintage type of PP goes with it very nicely. But, there is always a but...

But did you notice your friend is black? Darker skin people (not just blacks) need to be shot a bit differently so as to avoid photos #1 and 2 where his face is just too dark. #3 is better but his eyes could have used a bit of flash.

Love the photos. The eye trick can be fixed in photoshop with a little curve action. Not enough for me to nit them though.

I like them, i wish the last one had less noise in it but it still looks good.

I'm old school, the film school that is. And that means shooting right so you have nothing to fix later on in the darkroom. If the darkroom is even a possibility.

To Dani41780 = Fill flash is just a way to add a bit of light where needed. And the photog in this case could have added a bit of light on the face, with a bit of flash. And flash light can be directed at specific areas so that fill flash could have been directed at the face of the model without adding light to any other parts of the image.

Well the photos are gone, but I disagree that you would shoot black people differently that white people, or asian people, or indian people.
Meter the light and you are all good.
