Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hi guys I am new to photography and and was attempting to do a portrait using my speedlight to get a black background

By the way this is just a random shot of my wife sitting in the ground
she hates me taking photos of her so was lucky to get this shot
would have been nice if she did her hair and dress up for me :D

C&C welcome

Avoid on-camera flash at all costs. Specially, with a hard light. On-camera lighting is flat and not-so-good-looking.
Hard shadows work good, but not like this.
And that kind of cleavage is nice for boudoir/glam photos. Not so nice in here.
That pose doesn't work either.

Indeed, only good purpose for on camera flash is if it is to CLS control remote flashes

Thanks guys i was using a remote trigger for my speedlight but only had it slightly to the side of me

You'll see a huge difference a little high and at around 45 degrees
