Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I had my first photo session this week, and took pictures of a friend and her husband. He is about to be deployed to Afghanistan so he chose to wear his uniform. Please let me know what you think!

Thanks :)

Even though there is overexposure in number one I really like it because my eye is drawn right to her smile. I'm sorry but I do not like the blurred effect in number five on the first photo. I see what you were going for, perhaps if the flag were higher up and a bit bigger because all I can focus on in that photo is the blurred couple. In number 3 the color and exposure doesn't blind me, which is good but I would like to see the couple closer and up against the bridge rail. I think they will love that photo though. You can always take different photographs from other positions and angles on the bridge. It's a happy looking couple, good job.

Really, you think they are overexposed? I can see why, I guess I just prefer my pictures overexposed. Is that bad?

Well, #3 is how my eyes perceive light and color. The rest are how I would imagine they would perceive light and color after spending an afternoon staring at the sun.

OK, maybe that was a little snarky, but I was trying to make a point to get you to think a little critically, and you're a new member so I don't want any further accusations flying at older members.

Basically, being that overexposed has eliminated a ton of detail in your pics, not to mention totally washing out color. Not to mention in #1 the area of blown highlights is huge to the point of almost hurting my eyes. So what do you think? Is a loss of detail good or bad? Are blown highlights good or bad?

it takes away from the details in the photo, but it also blinds the viewer and makes you focus on that vs focusing on the couple. I still think that you have some nice photos here with some tweaking, I am no expert so I can't give a professional opinion.

Haha Subscuck I don't mind the criticism or snarky comments. Thanks for the insight. I didn't even consider that they were over-exposed so I am glad you brought that up. The over blown highlights and loss of detail (at least on the focal point of the picture) is not what I was trying to achieve. The good thing, with the exception of picture #1, is that I added the over-exposed/"sunshine" look with photoshop, so I can easily remove it for the final product.

I have cc for the last photo.
its a crotch shot my eyes go right to that area. You should have taking that photo aimed down instead of directly at him.
( I LIKE the concept just not the angle.)

My fav photo is 4 I'd just crop off some of the negative space at the top. ITs really pretty I love everything about it sept the crop.

Another thought I think the last photo would have been nice using the rule of thirds. :)

Put his crotch in the upper right panel? :lmao:

Just kiddin.

I agree, the crotch seems to draw my attention, too. I like the angle, except maybe you should have been like 2 inches to your left and his hands should have been down a tad so you could have cropped closer and still had his hands and boots and his hands would have covered his dangly bits.
