Just getting started as a photographer. Here are a couple from a shoot yesterday. Please CC!

I like the first shot quite a bit. The second shot, however, looks very unnatural to me. I like the girl in front's hand in her pocket. I would have the whole family do the same, as their arms look (with the exception of the girl) look very stiff.

They both look stiff to me and you have cut off fingers and part of hands, it is very distracting and leads the eye out of the photograph.

Not my kind of portrait at all but the first one is great. Everyone seems fairly natural, the background is enough out of focus that the trees growing out of their heads are not annoying, the lighting is good (details in the black shirts), etc. Basically, nothing to say.

The second one, however, I have to agree with MikeBookPro. Dad's arm is especially annoying. Plus, the son has his eyes closed.
