The DOF is very thin, especially the first two. The exif says the first one was shot wide open (f/1.8), the second was stopped down a bit (f/3.5). You can see much more DOF in the third, at f/9.

Stopping down further will get you more DOF, but you may need a tripod. It also affect your image quality when you start to stop down below f/11 or so.

You may want to look into focus stacking.

The first one I was going for a very thin DOF actually but if you think that is hindering the photo. I did shoot with a tripod however it's a bit breezy here today still. I am going to try again in a little bit. Unfortunatly the only flowers currently blooming are these lillys.
