Captain Cooks cottage in metropolis yesterday,

Originally located in Yorkshire, England, and built in 1755 by the parents of Captain James Cook, Cooks’ Cottage was brought to Melbourne by Sir Russell Grimwade in 1934.

Beaut set of images - brings back memories
Long time since I've seen that cottage ... don't get south to Melb all that often these days

FYI to others here ... as the original cottage was dismantled brick by brick, every brick and roof tile and timber beam was numbered in chalk so that the building could be faithfully recreated in its new home

Fascinating! There is an Irish Pub just upstairs from the Madalay Bay hotel on the Vegas Strip that was disassembled and moved in the same manner.
