Yes and stay within the distance to subject indicated.
 
You could test by setting your digital camera to full manual, set the ISO to the film speed and see how the flash exposes on that camera. Theoretically, the results should be the same.
 
The auto setting on that Sunpak flash is fairly accurate. Give it a try. Also, by dragging the shutter a bit (1/60th a second) you will allow some ambient light into the image, giving it a more pleasing look.
 
I always use a light meter, this way you can get accurate readings for your exposures, dependant on what camera you have as most Digital Light Meters split 1/3 stop, but keep rule of thumb that 1 stop = half the light and whatever flash you use you can adjust the Aperture to get correct exposures everytime
