Flies, flies, and more flies

Wow...it has been awhile since I've been on here. Not sure why I left but I see it's still pretty active with some great members remaining (Overread and AI still here??). Anyway, I've done a lot of shooting so far this year and thought I'd share some...these are my best fly shots of the year.

Well I've been wanting to get into the Macro side of things besides wedding rings for the past couple of years now...I think I have sufficient gear(lighting and lenses) and all just haven't got around too it due to time constraints.

Any particular software you recommend for post?

Honestly, all I use is Capture NX2. All I ever do 99% of the time is remove all in camera sharpening and add in a PP USM with a threshold of 3-4 (helps reduce noise in the background from sharpening). Then sometimes a slight crop for composition and that's it. I actually have two presets that I can apply within 2 clicks. One is the sharpening w/ standard (more contrast) and one the same only with neutral (less contrast). Good photos come from good lighting, not from good post processing. That's my thoughts at least.
