I find myself doing that also. As for the picture, not bad but I'm not sure that it's a b&w candidate. What does the color look like?

Huh, I liked it much more in B&W. So much so that I didn't even save the color version I'll post it later this afternoon

Maybe it's just the record shot syndrome I seem to have, but if there's going to be a leaf as the subject, I want to see a leaf

I like it. It's a bit minimalist but there's enough there to keep me looking. I like the off centre composition and the floating bits in the water. With the leaf pointing out of the frame it adds a bit of quirkyness.

Thanks everyone! I like your edit Rick. I originally wanted all the dead space in there for a minimalist viewpoint, but your's is quite good too I'll have to mull it over.

Really like this image...almost a minimalist sort of shot. Great texture and feel of the water and the lily pad is a great accent....I hope lily pad is nice and sharp on the full size image
