Flying to a location - what gear to take?

Staying within the limits of airline regulations and the good sense to keep gear from being broken from the flight / handling experience, what would you take if you were flying to a location and the only gear you would shoot with was the gear you took? What would you pack, where, how? What would you do about lights, etc.?

What airline? What location? It makes a difference.

Take cameras lenses and terminal gear as cary on. You have a 50# limit so weigh everything before you get to the airport because if you are 52# it cost $100

Ship it ahead via ups or fedex and insure it. No overweight charges and can stroll through the airport with only a carry-on.

If it is a real job do NOT ship "stuff"...especially in foreign countries packages get lost ...then what you are not going to be able to replace your equipment.
