Focus Fusion.....tell me more

There have been several great shots, typically close ups, where great depth of field was achieved. Focus fusion was mentioned. Looked this topic up online and read some brief descriptions but not much meat. This a new topic for me and I would like to hear more.

Do you mean 'focus stacking', which is commonly used by macro photographers to increase the razor thin DoF they have to work with??
