Focus problem

I have a Fuji Finepix s9000 I use for work. I need to take photos of small things up close (1mm - 200mm things). Im not knowledgeable about photography and Im having trouble focusing on things that are too small. IS there a limit to this camera's ability to focus on small things if I get too close? Ive tried manual focus, and looking at the manual to get info about the settings. I havent seen anything that will address this problem.

yes theres a certain distance at which the camera cant focus properly
u can try manual focus but its still a long shot

ur best bet if get a little further and crop

The manual should have the minimum focusing distances for the given equivalent focal length. Also are you using a tripod or support for the camera?
