Foggy morning in my neighborhood

I woke up to an absolutely great weather for photographing - there was a fog and a sun behind. The sun soon replaced the fog, but before it happened...

What would you think of a tighter crop on your first shot and I pumped up the contrast just a tad?

The second one is very striking to me and keeps drawing me back. Maybe it is because we all have to make decisions and face crossroads in our lives and this illustrates that? Not sure exactly but I like it.
