I like railroads. In high school and college, I worked summers on track gangs. Long time ago...

I would love to see the kind of rail system they have in Europe introduced here in the US. I miss just being able to go down to the train station, buy a ticket, and go. Then again, I miss that about flying as well.

Yes, when I was working as an ergonomist for an insurance company, I could get a call, drive over to Love Field, get a ticket out of the machine, hop on a plane, and be there in a few hours from the call. No more that.

And we can only dream about the kind of rail system so common in other nations.
