Took a walk through the forest with my fisheye lens today.

kind of neat i'd say

Wow, very nice. I guess with that lens you don't have to lie down in the forest to take it !
Really nice all around.

Whoa, I am confused. I didn't think Iowa had trees let alone a forest. Wait did you guys relocate all of the trees in one spot?

I kid I kid. I am a former Minnesotan. I do like the kind of trees there and the look of the photo.

We imported a hill from Kansas back in '67. And I think there's a town that has running water now.

Sparky, nice shot. I like this type of composition - it has a somewhat peaceful overtone to it, but do you really think we believe that you imported a hill from Kansas?

could i come out with anywhere near this effect using the fisheye special effects option on my point and shoot? Or is the in camera ones just toys?

Sigh. Called out on this one, wasn't I? OK. It was really Nebraska, but don't tell anyone.... Huskers are really ashamed to admit they made the deal.

I doubt it. Usually those effects are created digitally and don't really have the perspective needed in the shot to pull it off.
