Forest or Reef

Sometimes I see things in the forest that could have been found on a coral reef!

#1 Mimics coraline algea (though that is usually red). Algea on tree branch. Size is nearlly 1:1 (about 1"). I boosted color saturation a bit and did move the hue slightly to enhance the blues. Taken at f16 to try to get all in focus.

#2 This one just looks weird. Growing on the top of a fallen log. The stems look like they might be stiff (calcified) but they are not. Color is as it was. Lighting not the best - would have liked more shadowing of vertical columns in front but don't have flash and could move camera around much. The image is about 1:1, 1.5" across and was taken at f3.5 to try to get some isolation of the red "dots" (though their color isolates them pretty good).

#3 Mimics Acropora spp coral but it is some kind of mushroom/toadstool. Coral would be hard and brittle but this is soft. It is white throughout but the bottom appears red due to reflection of the dead leaves etc.
