But, I am not a fan of a non-circular catchlight. That's just a personal preference thing. I just find that circular catchlights are more natural.

First of all Mike, congrats. Haven't been around much these days but looks like you got a noobie in the house.

3, 4, 5 are my favs. Atta boy. He looks like a charmer and a half!!

Awesome series. Love the lighting? Can I take a guess at one softbox? (trying to pin down lighting setups so I can use them myself for certain effects.

Yes, lighting was one softbox, as close to him as I could get it...which made for the very soft light. I positioned it in front of him enough so that I wouldn't have to add fill light but still to the side enough to give good modeling. I couldn't really tell him where to look (well I could but he wouldn't listen) so the catch lights are different in each shot.
