What does it means.. - sheds?

Nice and detailed photo, IMO is it a bit pity that it shines so much from his skin, but all over I like the shot.

Shed means get rid of a layer of dead skin. He does it as he grows larger. Every couple months the eyes slowly turn a milky blue, then go back to clear. Several days later he will shed his skin.

I agree about the light, unfortunetly it's indoors and my camera is just a regular digital so I had to use flash. No ISO's higher than 400 and it gets a bit noisy at that point.

Can he see with his eyes like that? That comes off when he sheds right?

He can't see as well as he normally would. Sometimes it does make them a bit more skittish. But MOST species of boas are quite mellow if captive bred especially. They just get scared if they see fast movement and will jerk their head away. He will shed his "eye caps" along with the rest of the skin. Boas are killer (awesome)
