I was just using mine for 6o second exposures. Nice, quick and does the trick. I also use a IR, and I have a radio trigger. But for quick & simple it's nice to have.

Currently I am using Vello's shutterboss (the wired version). It wasn't too expensive, has a backlight, and can easily control my long exposures.
