1st and 3rd are nice :)

very warm colours, was this really the light there?

please number your images next time ;)

Great captures. I think the girls in #3 need to work on their cheers! :)
Good coverage of the game. Do you cover for the school paper?

What gear did you use to take these pictures? And on average what where your aperture and shutter settings?

I use an olympus e-500 with a 40-150mm. My aperture was usually somewhere around f3.5 and f4. Shutter speed was around 1/500 to 1/1000 before it got darker and about 1/125 to 1/150 when it was dark.

The one thing I notice in the first set in particular is the excellent depth of field - the focus is entirely on the players, everything else isn't even remotely in focus. #3 in particular from the first post. Well done.

You have got some amazing shots! The sunset lighting is terrific! Great job on all these shots in my opinion!

Your photos are unavailable, but I can tell from the posts you did a great job. I'm a mom with a varsity football player who now will be playing night games! Ugh. I have an ancient 35mm Canon EOS 50E with a Canon EF 70-300mm IS lens. I'm getting a digital camera, probably Canon 40D, for Christmas, but that won't help me for this football season. I am strictly AF using the sports mode setting. This is fine for daytime football, lacrosse and swim team, but I know enough to realize it won't work under the football lights. I don't even have a flash except the pop up one one the camera. Any recommendations a regarding Tv vs Av and manual settings!?! Tonight is my first night. I figure I'll just take my instruction booklet and try different combinations. Of course, since it's not digital I probably won't remember what the settings were if I get a good picture!?! Thanks for your input!
