Fulgorids

A couple of Fulgorids.

I was reluctant to photograph this Pyrops oculata lantern bug / lanternfly because I have too many shots of them already. I did it anyway but it was a rather slow day. Good thing I did. There were some parasitic flies (Diptera: Ceratopogonidae?) on this Fulgorid. Seen this on damselfly before but first time on a lantern bug/lanternfly.

A rather plain looking Fulgorid, genus: Dichoptera. High up on a tree, handheld, high iso, Cropped.

Those parasitic flies were probably after that huge, tasty, salty pretzel. They do have some comical looking nose like appendage. Wonder what that is used for?

LOL....thanks Jerry. No idea what the appendage is for...some say it's to deter the birds from eating them?
