Nice shot. A couple of comments. I would have preferred more contrast; the picture seems flat. Also, the texture seems strange. If you look at the wings, they look very grainy like little dots, almost like the kind you see in newspaper photos and comics. What's causing that?

It's grain from Topaz. The RAW FF shot is from the edge where the lens is at its' weakest. It also took a lot of enlargement so things are really stretched to the max. As for the contrast, that is a matter of taste. I have another file with more contrast but, it looked a little over cooked to me.

Now that I look at it with fresh eyes, I think I like it best.

Final edit
My 1st edit started with LrC -> Topaz for noise reduction and sharpening. This edit and my favorite, eliminated Topaz and I used LrC Ai noise reduction and then to Ps for Levels adjustment and sharpening. In my opinion, this edit is by far the most natural looking and best represents what I saw last evening.

Beautiful. I've been wanting to take a similar shot but have been unsuccessful. Yours is perfect.

Admirable but they do fly-bys in my 'hood several times a day as fall advances. Total idiots when they march their families across busy streets. Remarkably few get flattened. Will send you a shot or two of goose crossing signs nearby...

Yes, they are a nuisance in many places.
