General Purpose Zoom Lens Upgrade

I currently use a Canon EF 35-128mm F/3.5-5.6 USM.

It's a nice lens and all, but I think I'd like an upgrade to replace it. Here's the thing, I like it's macro capabilities, and it's focal range is pretty good; but I also wish it could handle some wider shots.

So:

EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM Lens

or

EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens

I'll probably go with refurbished and I'd like to keep the price around $900 or less.

sigh, nvm. I answered my own question. The 24-105 does indeed have macro capabilities. Sold.

Both good choices. If you prefer to have more range go for the 24-105, if image quality is the priority go for the 24-70. I think the mfd on the 24-70 is around 0.38m and 0.45m for the 24-105
