Geometric Beams

Took this of the TWA Flight 800 memorial at a beach. I loved the way the wood made shapes, and the shadows made even more. Comments, and constructive criticisms are always appreciated.

500x273 pixel means that you cropped part of - supposedly - the bottom by 60 pixels (normal ratio would have been 500x333px) ... why?
I seem to miss quite a bit of "bottom" here and I guess it once was there.
Why did it have to go?
Other than that, yes, the patterns are quite intriguing, with the curve adding to the interest.

But I feel I miss a bit of "anchor" here.

It was a bit of the top, and a bit of the bottom. ;-)
