I visited a place called "jodrell bank" observatory, this is one of the biggest and most powerful radio telescopes in the world, this is the front veiw.

and this is the back veiw,at a time like this i wish i had a really wide angle lens, i could'nt get any further back, we were right under it.

thanks jonmikal! i presume it's from the same family as the astronaut james lovell to astronomer bernard lovell.

at least thats what i was told. i have an aunt (who is like a mom) that was NASA Administrator James Webb's assistant during the mercury, gemini and apollo years. jeeze, the memorabilia i have from that era.

anyway, i could be wrong. lovell isnt too common a name.
 
I would lean more towards what you say jonmikal, it makes sense, i wish i had delved more into the history side of it on my visit, but alas i was too interested in taking pictures. :)
