Going Mac? Got a question?

In all seriousness, Windows XP right now is perfectly usable.
exactly. There's nothing wrong with it, and the fact that it works with literally hundreds of thousands to millions of different types of system configurations is quite an achievement.

A few months ago I switched form Pcs/linux boxes to Macs. I really like Macs now. I can't imagine using anything else for my home computers. I like how it's very easy to manage your different programs. I also like the different views you can have of your files. It's cool how you can drag a jpeg to any program in the dock and it will open it with that program. I've noticed that my multimedia work goes faster on my macs that it did on my pc's. By that i just mean the work flow is a little faster. Meaning the steps I need to take to do something. Not the actual processing speed. Oh Expose is really cool to. I love being able to toggle through ten windows at once or make them I'll disappear. The apple website is really good too. Lots of great tutorials and great downloads.

Things I don't like:

Hard to upgrade/change hardware. Pretty much all I can do is add more ram.

you are paying a premium because it's hip and cool. It's a mac, it's pretty and sleek. You always see it in all the movies. You pay more to won a fashionable computer. But for me, the extra money was worth it. I really like it now.

Here is some good recourses for you. Make help you to decide if a mac is for you.

what if you enjoy the windows environment?

Good stick with it. Really Right now XP is a great OS, people only run into problems because they download too much porn and load all kinds of crap on to their computers that they never use and don't need.

The main thing between OSX and XP, is differently organized environments and workflow's.

Use what you enjoy, and what makes you productive.

There is not one right operating system for everyone; thats communism.
