I actually like the subject of this image. I just think that i needs another color treatment (too much blue here). I did a quick comparison (in which i edited out the branches around the edges too):

hmm... the blue is what i was going for, but i must admit i think i prefer your version myself. well done.

if anybody else wants to have a go at this photo and see if they can come up with something better/different, please feel free. I would be interested to see the results.

What about a black and white version? Seems like it would look like a really old photo, maybe some sepia tone?!?!?
