St. Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach, FL It was a glommy day and I couldn't get a bird to fly to save my soul...little buggers stayed up in the trees except this guy, who I guess got hungry and popped down for a snack. Hated I missed him flying in, but so it goes.

Thanks for the info. I will be visiting Florida next February for a winter holiday and some bird photography. I will be shooting mainly further south around Fort Meyers and then over to Orlando, Melbourne, Merritt Island and the Viera wetlands. I will put Panama City and St. Andrews on my list of places to see in Florida and who knows, maybe I will spend another winter holiday up in the panhandle area.

While there is no "wild life" of the natural sense, if you are gonna be in Orlando, there is some great fun to be had, and some cool street scene shooting to be had at night in Ybor City. Lots of cool old buildings, mixed with a lot of cool clubs/nightlife makes for an interesting mix. I quite like Ybor.

Sorry for the little threadjack, just seeing all those Florida city names made me miss Ybor.

But south of Ft. Meyers, there's more to the square incha than just about anyplace else on earth in the Everglades National Park.
