Photos NOT OK to edit
I found this owl on Saturday morning. It tolerated me well, letting me to spend almost 2 hours with it - allowing me to shoot several different angles and backgrounds. I haven't processed many of the images yet, but I posted a couple different views in the "Recent Photos" gallery on my website.

Thanks for looking.

Isn't it bad luck to see an owl in the daytime?

Or is that just some hillbilly nonsense?

Nice capture though!

Great Greys are daytime hunters, so I'd consider it unlucky NOT to see one during the day!!

You can usually tell if an owl hunts in the day or night - as a general rule, owls with colour in their eyes like this one or the European Eagle Owl hunt during the day, owls with black eyes such as the Barn Owl or Tawny Owl, hunt at night.

Very nice! Lucky for you to see one--I'm hoping I cross an owl's path at some point! :)

Its always great to get a Great Grey ,usually seen along roads early morning or late afternoon.

Thanks. It's definitely some hillbilly nonsense then.

Haha. I think I might have read it in "Where the Red Fern Grows" way back when I was in grade school.

Love Owls and this is a beautiful portrait of one. Great work, and your site is looking wonderful. Keep up the great work!

Great shot! You are so lucky that he hung around for you.

Love it! Amazing capture. That's one owl I'm not likely to ever see (in my area anyway), but I may one day travel to a location where they are found. I'd be thrilled to see one of these in the wild.
