The Great Horned Owl is a large and widespread North American raptor found in a variety of habitats from dense woods to prairie and deserts with at least some trees to wooded towns and suburbs. It is typically well-camouflaged dark brown overall, but varies in color. Males and females often engage in haunting duets hooting back and forth. It can be distinguished from other owls by the lengthy feathered tufts on its head called “plumicorns”, speckled, grey-brown body, reddish-brown face and white patches on its throat. Isn't he adorable!? Lucky you.
Beautiful shot of those amazing eyes!

I will be in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, USA for the summer. I have been searching for owls there but so far no luck.
