Great Picture, But At What Price?

First--I was totally stumped as to where to put this. Not off-topic chat, as it IS about photography.
Not the galleries, as it's not my picture...
So mods, feel free to move it wherever might be more appropriate than what I finally settled on (not that you *wouldn't* have felt free to move it without my saying so... :lmao )

Anyway...just came across this photo on Google+.

Not sure which I like more; the photo or some of the comments:

Eh, It's not really a loss when you have insurance.

She appears to be picking it up and removing it using that particularly feminine feline "vermin-removal" kind of bite and carry away posture that we see when a maternal cat (either domestic or wild, of any size) has found vermin within her current domain area. Cantcha' just sense the "Ewwww, gross!" factor here from the lioness? Like, "Ewwww! Some human left this stinky thing here, with this smelly, sweaty strap of hide dangling from it, and those old, gross, dried-out, marrowless black bones underneath! Yuuuck!"

There was a pretty popular Canon + polar bear photo a few years back...the video's probably still on YouTube.

Probably so. I'm blind, I reckon--I looked for that, knew it was there somewhere but somehow overlooked it. Ah well.

It may not be a financial loss if the camera is insured, but I assure you, if *I* had been that photographer, there would probably also be the cost of replacing the ruined pants I was wearing, and the medical bills, just from the heart attack I'd have (assuming the lion didn't actually rip the photographer's arm off...)

It appears to me that the camera, with I think the 24-105 f/4 L on it, has a radio trigger and was mounted on a low tripod...probably set up in position to take pics of the lioness from a CLOSE position, with the 'tog back a ways...cat probably did not like the sound, or smell, of the intruding camera....one of the hazards of using a remotely-triggered camera I guess would be...pi$$ed off lionesses!!! lolz.

I found this amusing BBC clip of polar bears messing with expensive, camouflaged BBC remote controlled, camouflaged camera rigs. Amusing stuff!
