took these at pine island on the gulf coast of florida about 40 miles north of tampa. used kodak iso 400 High Definition film, canon rebel 2000, canon 75-300mm lens 1:4-5.6 I'm still a beginner so any criticism would help.

The first picture is alright. I like what you tried to do w/ the sunset and silhouette. The only problem is it looks to me like you're not sure if you really wanted to do that or if you wanted to expose the beach. My advise on that picture would be to either. The easy way to fix this would be to crop the bottom out a little bit. Definitly leave a little bit of the land, but get most of it out. or expose a little longer and get definition on the beach.
I really like the second one a lot. The people add a nice touch. I'd also say take a little bit of this out, but not nearly as much.

My best advice for this would be to play with the shots you take and keep the horizon off the center line of the photo. Play around and see what effect you like and then go for it!
