I'll tell you what was done in post if you like.z The original photo was intentionally under exposed a bit, did this to keep from blowing out the clouds since the sun was directly to my left. In Photoshop I imported the RAW twice, once I bumped up the exposure a little bit for the sky, then the second bumped it up a little more for the ground, overlayed, made a mask, voila. I had to play with the whites, and blacks in RAW to get the clouds to look nice and bright again. I really wish I had my tripod (broken), it would be nice to have done this bracketed and import that.

Very nice shot, I think that the portait layout helped this shot out a lot. I dont know if it would have been interesting as a landscape. I could be wrong but thats just something that works for me.

I agree, I shot both, but the landscape mode didn't have nearly the impact that portrait does.

Also, I added the original jpeg as it came out of the camera, nothing done to it at all, not even a resize so it's pretty big.
