In the middle of the concrete jungle of Bangkok is a little peninsula of green on a loop of the Chao Praya called Bang Kachao. Once on that little peninsula, it seems like it is out in the rural nowhere but it is actually a 'green lung' on a loop of the Chao Praya.
One gets there by crossing the Chao Praya on a shallow long-tail boat and it is very intimidating to be maneuvering in this boat with less freeboard than a canoe between big ocean going ships that have come upriver to Bangkok .
And what do I find in the middle but a Hard Rock Cafe - a rather atypical one but an official looking sign.
