HDR attempt - CC please

Couple of HDR attempts. Used Photomatix Pro, pretty basic.

This was suppose to be a water fall, turned out to be a dried up creek bed. Maybe if it ever rains again in Indiana I can come back for some actual water shots.

Second one looks great, love the contrast that hdr makes. First one is nice too, a bit soft I want to say though.

I actually love the first one.. the second one.. the rocks are too distracting for some reason..

You are right, you could actually crop about half of the rocks out and the composition would be better

I really like the first one. I find the red tones a bit too overpowering in the second. But it still looks pretty good. Good job

I'm not a fan of the "obviously HDR" look, so the second one doesn't do it for me. It looks fake. But some really like that look, so...

I do like #1. Looks like Missouri, lol.

Thanks guys. I def need a better tripod. Still using a Best Buy cheapie, thinking about dropping a couple hundred on a REALLY good one, but no clue which way to go!

And the photomatix is a cool HDR program because the trial is unlimited, but it just puts two little watermarks in the photo - easy to clone out tho
