Hello from VT

Hi, I've been into photography as a hobby for 2-3 years now. technically I started 20 years ago in college taking a B&W film photography class, but haven't done anything with it until the last few years.
What got me back into photography was N-scale model trains, I wanted to be able to take better photos of my miniature trains, then it grew from that specific focus to taking pictures of everything (I did a project on 365project.org last year) but since this past summer I've been in the photography slumps..... hoping to re-kindle my interest in the hobby.
I guess I've been discouraged by everyone around me taking great photos with their cell phones while I use an old Canon 20D (I can't afford a new camera).

How is that for an into?
