Help on how to create this 'look'

Hey guys!

I've got a question to the PP gurus out there.

can you describe to me how these pictures were PP'ed

Lots of fill light in ACR or Lightroom and oversharpening.

They've also cranked up the contrast and put a vignette on both photos.

it also reminds me of Luisart or dragan processes

I'd do it with fill flash, vignette, and a high percentage/low radius USM followed by a low percentage/high radius USM on a luminosity blend layer.

I think it's actually making a faux HDR from a single RAW file.

This technique (which doesn't use HDR, though the end results are similar) was described in about 2 or 3 issues back in Photoshop User. I'll see if I can't dig up the issue #.

Those photos look a little similar and maybe on the way to look like the works of Dave Hill.

Could it be possible that the images are HDR process? For some reason they remind me of it. Here's one that I did in Photomatix. Its not the greatest example, but I think it some what gives the same effect...I could be wrong about it.
