can yall just give me some tips as far as using a digital camera? im trying to get used to my boyfriends sony a33, i barely have time to use it and i actually have it for a week now that hes not so protective of it. i use it for concert photography on the auto settings mostly. i use a canon A1 35mm camera all the time and its like an extention to my body but i just cant seem to produce the same quality pics with the sony as i can film and its really starting to upset me. i love film and this digital stuff is giving me a huge headache quite frankly. just need some tips or something to get used to this transition... thanks in advance. ive never felt helpless like this lol

Sony's are not great in low light but what is the difference you have aperture, shutter speed, ISO put it on manual and there is no difference except you can see the results straight away and make adjustments

Well the above, plus sensor size and the dynamic range of film vs digital makes a pretty big difference. But the point is taken, knowing how to adjust your aperture, shutter and ISO manipulate the exposure in the same way on both technologies..

First ... how do you shoot with the Canon (ie manual, auto ... etc).

Second ... what exactly is the difference in the images ?

Third ... what lenses are you using on the Canon vs Sony ?

The Sony a33 is a very good camera in terms of image quality and even low light images (yes, Sony has improved this aspect).
Possibly the EVF is throwing you off.
