Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
unnamed (Small).webp

Very nice lighting to give shape/volume to her arms and face. Quite a contrast between the modern chic (appearance) of the model and her surroundings. I assume this is part of a series?

Interesting shot. Nice lighting on the model. Particularly like the light showing through the boards in the background. Ed

Nice expression. I would like to see the background slightly darker and her slightly lighter.
the firs edit I dd was exactly the same :) but she was too prominent and I toned her down

well... series... hm... I brought her there because I had a few pictures in mind and I shot her a few times... can you call that "series"? :)

meh. I am going to be hard on you as it seems you are trying to go semi-pro too.
Looking at a portrait i try in my ignorance to figure out what makes it special. What makes it a portrait

in this case i don't see much difference between this and taking a snap of my kid on a picnic table in the dusk and doing a bw conversion. She is sitting on the corner of a tub, okay. Looking at something, no idea what. I look that direction i see the right side of the photo which looks kind of like it was dragged through extensive noise reduction or something. I would like to see it more in focus, totally gone, or just somewhere else. What is she looking at, the metal thing? My eyes are drawn to the light coming through the boards, then as mentioned her hand. This isn't a bad thing even if her face isn't that bright as long as the entire frame is a shadow play. But you didn't take advantage of the shadows and lights here. It looks like you shot it, tweaked the shadows and lost some, tried to process her. something. wiped the right side of the frame. No where near pro work imo. It doesn't appear a natural light shadow play photo to me anymore. Which is what i think you were looking at. Otherwise you just have a woman sitting on the edge of a bathtub looking at some metal thing in a semi ugly frame. Right side totally awash. Seemed a shadow/light play to me i think ya killed it. Frame unbalanced, tempting to just cut the entire right hand side of the frame off as it doesnt seem to serve much purpose anyway. Not if focus, no great light or shadow there. If you want dead space darken that puppy down.
(still like you maria trying to help. Remember criticism is for kicking toward improvment )

I like the lighting, but the hand on the knee draws my eye more than her face
looked like it might have been a nice low key light/shadow play. Lot of potential. Just lost the naturalness in the frame. more of a foreground leading to the subject, not cutting off her legs, with some splattered light across the floor, something for a lead in, would help. i know nothn though. i just look at lots and lots of portraits.

Ok bri, I think this is the first time I'm facing with this kind of words and not sure how to take it. it's completely ok that you don't like the "snap". Just play nice. You probably won't like my next picture, it's ok.

There isn't much processing here, noise reduction no. The light is coming trough the doors on her right, boards behind her and the window on her left.

Take it with a grain of salt for what you can use it for. But you can do better, i know you can. :1219:

So are you
I could have just said "hey, i like it" but it wouldn't be doing you any favors. Soon as you put "photographer/photography after your name or start doing contract modeling shoots you enter a different league. So, i try to give critique according the bar the person is setting for themselves. This isn't contract work quality. Time to step it up...
