Hooded Merganser couple

I was up at our local mountain lake this afternoon on an icy/windy late afternoon. All the wildfowl were on the further shore protected from the wind. That shore is also a swamp, so no luck getting to them. I was getting ready to leave when this Hooded Merganser couple came floating by close enough for a shot. I like the way the setting sun highlights the female's crest.
