LOL. Yea I think it was more of tuck and glide.

David it is moving up that is why he tucked and glide. See the direction his head is in? Pretty much like an airplane going up -- it retracts its wheels first to make it aerodynamic. Nicely caught. Very rare shot or I have not seen one caught in photographed like this one.

Thanks Izzie. Interesting izzie on the aerodynamics,I understand it being I had motorcycles and sports cars but the thought of the birds didn't occur to me.

Super interesting, I caught a swallow like this (not as nicely) and never really thought about other birds (ie - not as crazy fighter pilot as the swallows) doing it as well. Great capture!

Yes those swallows the rapid direction changes kills me.Bat like movements IMO.

Blast off and at speed !!. Well stopped in flight shot, 1/4000 can't beat it Dave. Wonderful to see the sharp details in there and 10 out of 10 for an unusiual wing postion in a shot, great stuff.

Thanks Danny.The little sparrows do get some good speeds for sure.Not sure there fast as your swallows but looking through that view its like Zoom where did it go.

LOL a good description Dave The smaller they are, the faster they are and especially at these shooting distances. You need fast reactions and a ton of practise to get it, wonderfully done this shot and the wings or lack of, makes this one special. Wish I had one like that.
