Jokes apart, I agree with astroNikon. I you feel I cropped it a bit too tight, just cause I wanted to show how I'd edit the gators. You may keep as much of the surroundings as you'd prefer.
Keep in mind this is how I'd have done this, and not necessarily the right way of doing it.
If you shift the gator down a little bit I think it would make a better composition, versus right smack in the middle.

The gator would approuch a little island where there were many new hatchlings in nests overhanging the water... the gator would pause underneath and just sit for a while, then go around the island again...
