I need help with picking a wide angle zoom for FX

Hello Everyone, this my first thread on TPF, so bear with me if i dont get all the lingo.
Ive been shooting digital for a few years now, starting with a D200 and now a D7000, and i have a D800 on order, my issue is most of my lenses are DX except for my 70-200 2.8 VRII, i know i want to get a 50mm 1.8 once i can find one in stock, but id like to get a wide angle zoom to be used mostly for landscapes. So far im interested in the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm f/4G ED VR but ive been searching on the forum and havent been able to find any info on it, id like to get some opinions, are people happy with the build quality, weight, balance, and optical quality on an FX sensor. and please feel free to suggest other lenses in the wide angle zoom category, but my budget is $1200, and i like to purchase new because of the warranty.

Do a net search there is a lot of info out there on that lens. It is a good one.

How wide do u need? 20mm is quite wide on fx, so a 20mm f2.8 af-d prime may be all u need.
